It enhances our Smart Factory solutions by minimising time-to-print. Paolo Guglielmini, CEO, MSC Software, stated, “The AMendate acquisition directly addresses a major obstacle during design for companies shifting to Additive Manufacturing processes. AMendate’s technology is reported to significantly reduce the inefficient manual effort that can slow AM workflows, allowing work steps to be completed in days rather than weeks.

According to Hexagon, with the acquisition, MSC is positioned to offer its customers a shift away from general-purpose optimisation technologies to a purpose-built software solution for Additive Manufacturing, enabling the efficient production of highly complex components and providing users with benefits including material savings and weight reduction. AMendate will reportedly join Hexagon’s MSC Software business, which offers computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation software and services.ĪMendate was founded in 2018 by a team of researchers from Paderborn University and the Direct Manufacturing Research Center (DMRC), Paderborn, an industrial/academic consortium established in 2008 by Boeing, EOS, and other commercial partners. Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, based in Cobham, Surrey, UK, has entered into an agreement to acquire AMendate, a start-up company located in Paderborn, Germany, which provides simulation software solutions to support the generation and optimisation of designs for Additive Manufacturing.
